Barry Edwards, Principal/Creative Director/Teacher/Presenter
Creatively speaking, Barry started out designing by drawing on his closet doors with crayons early on. He followed his artistic interests through all phases of school; eventually settling on design and illustration at Kent State University.
Marketing and advertising knowledge came later. The most notable influence on the advertising aspect of his work is David Ogilvy – the Father of Advertising. Barry applies the same tried and true principals to his work today that Ogilvy’s research found so effective throughout advertising’s maturation period of the ’70s. The importance of establishing hierarchy and organization is perhaps more important today than ever as our fast-paced world inundates us with information. The importance of headlines, subheads, bulleted items and captions cannot be overlooked in capturing our target audience’s eye (and SEO). In all phases of Edwards Communications‘ work, copy and graphics speak directly to the target audiences’ desires clearly and concisely.
Teacher, Consultant, Presenter
Along with the above creative duties, Barry is the main web developer for Edwards Communications and had taught Photoshop and other graphics courses at Lakeland Community College for nearly 20 years. He continues to teach via the extensive consulting required while implementing website/content marketing systems for companies. Along these lines, Barry also is an experienced speaker on web development, branding and content marketing strategies.

John Eltzroth, CRM Consultant/Teacher/Speaker
John Eltzroth leads our CRM / Marketing Automation efforts. John helps you put more leads and customers into your sales pipeline. CRM (Customer Relationship Management) and Marketing Automation software and strategies ensure customers become more satisfied and you sell more with less effort. John designs ways to eliminate current frustrations that sales, marketing, and customer support professionals have through the use of new procedures and software.
John has worked in the software industry for over 25 years and 15 years ago, he chose to specialize in helping sales, marketing, and customer support professionals. He loves to help clients find the best ways to assist their customers and to create new approaches in satisfying them. CRM is designed to manage and assist with the engagement and purchase decision phase of a buyer journey, and to help support the customer in their use of your product/services. But today, as much as 70% of the buyer’s journey is completed prior to sales engagement. So, John also helps our clients learn how to “nurture” their prospective customers, with marketing automation software. This results in better sales/buyer interactions.
John is also a director on the SME Cleveland board and a past president of the Chardon Area Chamber of Commerce.
Throughout his career, teaching has been one of the most enjoyable parts of John’s work. He has traveled around the world teaching others to better use CRM software.
