Our first adventure – the climbing of Mt. Thera.
On the way up a stray dog befriended us. He became known as “Baxter”. He enjoyed the climb with us and departed happily afterward.

Our next adventure consisted of sailing to 3 locations: A volcanic island, the gorgeous small isle of Therasia and a last trip to swim in a bay that “contrains the fountain of youth”.
What it actually contained was a lot of jellyfish! Several passengers got stung.

Next stop -Therasia. Kind of like Gilligan’s Island with some shops on it – and the BEST gyros ever.
I mean, EVER.

Dan waded out in the crystal clear water to take this picture. I was specifically saying at that moment, “This is the BEST! I will always remember this very moment for the rest of my life”.

Leaving Therasia, we stopped to swim in the “Fountain of Youth” with some unwanted jellyfish. Nursing some wounds, we head back to Santorini.

This is a hotel built into the mountain. Wish we could’ve stopped and checked it out.

Our first day in Mykonos.
As if our trip couldn’t get any better, we get a gorgeous room overlooking the Aegean Sea.
Dan made sure I turned the label on the beer to face the camera.

Dan and I got scooters and explored the island and beaches while JT went snorkling.

The ending to a perfect day.

Eventually we all decided to go out to Paradise Beach for the day and evening.
For JT, make that, “day, evening and next morning”.

Watching JT. He just made things very interesting.

JT pulls out his ultra-cool shades for the first time and demands that we call him, “Rick”. He insists that these shades make him 110% cooler.
He proved us right.

“Rick” scopes the beachside techno bar. In particular the blonde in the middle. He predicts that he’ll be dancing with her within minutes.

This guy’s also getting the vibes from our blonde friend. In fact, he’s really feeling it.

After JT was done getting his groove on in the club, he made his way to the next beach side bar where he met three new friends from a nearby island.

“Rick” makes another appearance. He wasn’t seen again until morning.

The next day consisted of casual shopping and dining in several small Mykonos cities.

Barry Edwards enjoys the sunset at the Irish Pub next to the hotel room. Gazing out at the Aegean sea puts it all in perspective. Who’da thought there would be an Irish pub in Mykonos?

Our attempt at crashing a mountain side wedding in Mykonos didn’t pan out as planned, but we did have fun at the accompanying restaurant.

Next… on to Athens!

The Acropolis is always under a state of re-construction and can be seen from nearly anywhere in Athens.
And Athens is BIG, I tell you.

I think this is the Agora.. but I forget.

Dan Drees pretending to touch the Parthenon. They are very vigilant about people not touching anything as the acids from our hands eventually take a toll on the ruins.

We came back for our last dinner here. It has an upper level outdoor dining area where we feasted like ancient Greeks with the Acropolis gorgeously lit up in the background.

Our last night in Athens, Greece consisted of several stops for appetizers (and Uzo) that culminated in an authentic Greek dinner and dancing.
